Samba
Drumming
Learn
one of the most dynamic drumming styles in the world. Using the
authentic Brazilian instruments including the Surdo (large bass
drum), Ago-go Bell and Snare Drum; you will experience some of the
passion, energy and rhythms associated with South America. They
will be playing a coherent Samba Reggae piece complete with musical
calls and breaks!
The
body percussion warm up.
Two lines of teams face up to each other and using a very simple
process of body percussion will interact with their opposite number.
Co-operation with their new found friend and fun concentration culminates
in a finale of hand claps, chest beating, clicking fingers and lots
of hilarity!
Incorporated
with this teambuilding event we
create the fundamental element of music rhythm with the unique and
immensely versatile boomwhacker (plastic tube, different lengths
when hit together produce a pitched tone). These have proved a fantastic
tool for learning and enjoying music. Lots of energy, lots of noise
and a real sense of achievement.
The
group learns a simple but challenging groove through a collection
of rhythms when combined creates a very infectious tune. The participant
experiences their importance within the piece by taking other elements
of the groove away.
The
whole group is then invited to separate into two and in 10 mins
to compose their own groove to perform to each other. They will
have learnt simple elements of music; pulse, off beats, rests etc
and with only limited help if required from the tutors, they will
create a unique groove.
Why corporate drumming events work
Drumming
has been used for centuries to stimulate and inspire. Its uncomplicated
format guarantees successful accomplishment and arouses the senses.
The collective energy throughout drumming emulates natural teamwork
leaving the individuals motivated and energised yet relaxed.
The
realisation when all of the group are drumming to a steady rhythm
which then all of a sudden aligns is exceptional and immensely powerful
– a great way to unite and inspire!
Other
Drumming Teambuilding Events
The
Industry of Sound
A corporate drumming team building
event involving dustbins, car wheels, drain pipes, scrap metal.
An industry of sound, a remarkable team
building session creating a huge array of sounds and rhythms
that will leave your group animated and amazed at their achievement.
The
Industry of Sound drumming event is an amazing journey with inanimate
objects constructing new boundaries in music making.
The Chain Gang
A unique instrument invented by Big Beat involving bin lids and
chains!
Bat
Phones
Drainpipes with u-bends make for an interesting resonance. Played
with bats, drainpipes will never seem the same again.
Car
Wheels
A wheely good metal sound thrashed out on old car wheels, minus
the rubber!
Funky
Bin section
Play that funky bin, with broom handles and energy. It’s not
a rubbish sound but a clatter of metal providing the driving hum
for the whole group.
The
Industry of sound is perfect for an indoor teambuilding
event for approx two/three hours or a half day corporate event.
The Euro Rhythm Song Contest
An event of fun and total madness, this is a new addition and will
prove to be very popular in the future! Using the Toy Orchestra
package for an event filled with audience participation culminating
in a ‘Woganesque’ and cheesy Eurovision contest to rival
the original.
The Euro Rhythm team building event
incorporates a plethora of Toy Orchestra instruments, including
boomwhackers, animal voices, woo tubes, twirly drums, train whistles
and other weird and wacky sounding toys. A Short performance by
the team of instructors explaining the merits of each ‘instrument’
will be followed by a collective session. Guests will all learn
an interactive piece based on simple rhythms and tunes. They can
choose a well known nursery rhyme or tune like ‘Thomas the
Tank Engine’ to create their piece to or create an original
composition or pick their favorite pop tune.
The wonderful creations are then performed to each other and in
true Eurovision fashion award points, hoping of course, not to receive
themselves the infamous ‘nil point’. We present prizes
to the best group as voted by the rest of the groups in the style
of the Eurovision Song contest.
For the Record
Have
you ever been in a recording studio? Heard yourself on disc? Ever
wanted to be a pop star?
Well
we can’t promise to turn you into a pop star but we can provide
you with the fun and exciting opportunity to record your own compact
disc.
In
one day we will take a group, compose and rehearse, record and produce
a 3 – 4 track Latin style CD.
The
group will learn an authentic Brazilian drumming piece like a Samba
or a Samba-Funk which will be accompanied by percussion and rehearsed
before recording on site using mobile recording equipment. The recordings
are mastered and a final printed CD produced for each person.
